A detailed walkthrough of our 4-step claim engine—from shipment data to your bank account.
When you connect your Shopify store, RefundSweep reads your complete shipment history: carrier, tracking, ship date, guaranteed delivery date, actual delivery date (or lack thereof), package value, and insurance coverage.
We only read shipping data. We don't touch customer info, payment methods, or product details. The sync runs hourly to catch new shipments.
RefundSweep automatically identifies two categories of recoverable claims:
We scan all incoming shipments in real-time. The moment a package qualifies, it's flagged for review.
Not every late or lost package becomes a filed claim. RefundSweep only files claims that pass our confidence model:
Result: roughly 30–40% of flagged shipments become filed claims. The rest we monitor—some may qualify later.
Once a claim passes the confidence filter, RefundSweep:
Typical timeline: claim filed → 7–14 days for carrier decision → payment to you → we bill our 25%.
When we file a claim on your behalf, carriers receive a letter from RefundSweep stating we are your authorized representative for shipping refund claims. This is standard practice in the shipping refund recovery industry.
Your store name and contact info are included in all filings. Carriers verify your shipment data against your merchant account before approving.
Each carrier's service guarantee terms vary. UPS and FedEx have clear late-delivery compensation policies. USPS Parcel Select reimbursement is more limited. DHL policies change regionally. We study each carrier's published terms and only file claims that meet their documented requirements. If terms change or a carrier adds restrictions, we adjust our confidence model accordingly. Our goal is sustainable relationships with carriers, not short-term claim volume.

No. You authorize RefundSweep once during Shopify connection. After that, all claims we file on your behalf are automatically authorized. You can log into your dashboard to see pending claims and opt out of specific ones if needed, but most stores just let us run.
We log the denial, analyze the reason (missing tracking, incorrect dates, outside guarantee window, etc.), and flag it in your dashboard. If there's a path to appeal or resubmit with additional data, we do it. If not, the claim is closed. Zero cost to you either way.
Yes. Your dashboard shows all pending claims with full details (order, carrier, reason, estimated refund). You can review, exclude, or bulk-file anytime. But most stores enable auto-file and just monitor progress in the live dashboard.
Not yet. Today we connect via Shopify API. We're building support for WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and custom integrations via our API. Contact hello@refundsweep.com if you want early access to non-Shopify platforms.
Initial sync of your Shopify store history takes 5–15 minutes depending on store size. After that, we pull new shipments hourly. You'll see pending claims flagged in your dashboard within 1–2 hours of a shipment qualifying for recovery.
